SICAM 2025: Under the motto “Attention to every detail,” REHAU presents innovations for edgebands, surfaces and storage space.

Whether large series or individual customization, whether the focus is on form or function, manufacturers can design their products flexibly with REHAU products. The design match brings the edgeband, surface and roller shutter together to create a harmonious overall picture and combines a wealth of different forms, high quality standards and simple processing. Matthias Haasler, Executive Vice President EMEA at REHAU Interior Solutions, emphasizes that the aim is to give designers in the furniture industry the greatest possible freedom in the selection, combination and processing of materials. At SICAM 2025, REHAU will be demonstrating how technological development creates specific added value: Inspiration from Rehau in Upper Franconia has an impact on the entire industry.

Multiple awards: the RAUKANTEX edgeband solutions

This inspiration includes an edgeband portfolio that is consistently geared towards monolithic furniture components. Thanks to the perfect design match between panel and edgeband–also in terms of texture and gloss level–as well as a wide range of variants, components can be realized "as if from a single mold" in industrial series as well as in individual interior fittings. Within the RAUKANTEX family, new versions continuously contribute to this goal. RAUKANTEX pigmento marks an important step in this process: pigments in the milling radius allow the decor to extend over the entire edgeband. Visible transitions are minimized, the typical frame effect disappears and the overall look is authentic and speaks of high quality. The effect is particularly striking in combination with decorative surfaces with a wood, ceramic or stone look. In wood decors, the grain in the milling radius has been visibly refined, creating an even more natural look. This quality was independently confirmed at the beginning of 2025: RAUKANTEX pigmento received the "High Product Quality" accolade at this year's interzum award.

The premium edgeband RAUKANTEX canvas creates a completely unique look, especially for textured or heavily patterned work and furniture surfaces. The innovative edgeband solution transfers decors with a high level of detail to the edgeband without visible pattern repetition. Additional texture provides a tactile 3D effect. This makes the decors appear even more vibrant. Individual designs are also possible, from accent edgebands to customer-specific motifs such as logos, without compromising on workability and durability. RAUKANTEX eco complements the range in the area of sustainability. The edgeband received the German Innovation Award in 2024 and–like the entire RAUKANTEX PP range–meets the requirements of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. With the ReTurn take-back concept, REHAU is also strengthening the circular economy throughout the product life cycle.

New at RAUVISIO: textured worlds and glass

REHAU will be presenting two new surface innovations at SICAM:
The RAUVISIO cube collection, which won the 2025 Red Dot Design Award and the 2025 interzum guangzhou award, is being expanded to include architecturally inspired textures. The starting point for the success story of the textured surface with deep relief and striking 3D feel is the Urban Concrete texture with irregularly distributed "air voids" for an authentic, urban look. A new addition is the Desert Stone structure, which will be available from 2026. The surface is evenly textured and is reminiscent of naturally weathered stone. It combines authenticity with elegance and conveys harmony and timeless durability with its balanced character. Desert Stone is color-coordinated with the HPL surface RAUVISIO noir. A total of four decors will be available. Further structures are already under development and initial results will be shown at the trade fair. 

FLIPDOOR: from design statement to system solution

FLIPDOOR is continuing to develop into a system platform in the storage space segment. The innovative opening mechanism with space-saving slat folding can be combined not only with RAUVISIO crystal, but also with other RAUVISIO surfaces–for consistent material and color worlds across fronts and carcasses. At SICAM, REHAU will be showing what this can look like in combination with the recently awarded RAUVISIO cube front. The combination of unique opening mechanism and modern stone texture makes for a real eye-catcher that clearly stands out from the usual solutions.

Rethinking storage space: RAUVOLET eco and paintable version

REHAU is presenting a further innovation in the storage space segment, responding flexibly to individual customer requirements: a paintable roller shutter design that can be precisely color-matched to adjacent materials by the customer. This is an innovative solution for the kitchen industry in particular, as it allows the storage space to be optimally matched to the design of the kitchen manufacturer's existing lacquered front collections.

REHAU is also introducing RAUVOLET eco, a sustainable option for PP roller shutter systems. In the eco version, the base material of the product consists of 100 percent post-industrial PP recyclate, which REHAU purchases from certified suppliers. The CO₂ savings for the roller shutter system without a carcass is at least 25 percent. The new sustainable version offers the usual REHAU quality and is available in all colors and decors. Individual settings are also possible. "Sustainability is an important part of our corporate philosophy, which we implement in production and in our supply chains and which is also gradually being incorporated into the product portfolio. RAUVOLET eco is another building block in this sustainability strategy," says Stefan Schicker, Head of Product Management Systems at REHAU Interior Solutions. Added to this is the extended product certification system.

Sustainability made measurable: EPDs for all product groups 

REHAU is the first provider in the furniture component supplier segment to offer official environmental product declarations (EPDs) for all central Interior Solutions product groups. The aim is to maximize transparency for customers so that they can make more sustainable purchasing decisions based on verified environmental indicators. The publisher of the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) is the independent Institut Bauen und Umwelt e. V. (IBU). The key figure of an EPD is the GWP-total (Global Warming Potential), expressed in kilograms of CO₂ equivalents (CO₂e). It describes the total amount of climate-damaging emissions that a product causes over its entire life cycle–from raw materials to production and disposal. The EPDs are already available for all central product lines from REHAU Interior Solutions, including RAUKANTEX edgebands, RAUVISIO surfaces and RAUVOLET roller shutter systems.
